At Reedham Primary and Nursery, we grow hearts and minds so that, when children leave us, they do so with the skills, confidence, and strong sense of right and wrong to navigate life’s challenges — ready to shape their future and make their mark on the world.
This is why we’re here — because we make a difference.
We make a difference when a child feels safe enough to come into school and not look back.
We make a difference when they trust us enough to talk — and allow us to care.
We make a difference when we recognise their strengths and encourage them to reach for the stars.
We make a difference when they know it is okay to be different — and feel confident in who they are.
We make a difference when they punch the air and shout, "Yes - I did it".
We make a difference when we take the time to make learning exciting, meaningful, and memorable.
We make a difference when we meet them years later — happy, thriving, and proud of who they’ve become. Our children are the reason we make a difference every day.
Through our values, we grow hearts.
💛 Courageous hearts that stand up for ourselves and others.
💛 Open hearts that welcome and accept others.
💛 Kind hearts that care for those around them.
💛 Joyful hearts that seize every precious opportunity.Through our teaching, we grow minds.
🧠Curious minds with a thirst for knowledge.
🧠Resilient minds that never give up.
🧠Sharp minds that question and challenge.
🧠Responsible minds that strive to make a difference. At Reedham Primary and Nursery, we grow hearts and minds — today, tomorrow, and for life.
Develop - Nurture the growth and development of all children, enabling them to fulfil their potential and achieve their aspirations.
Create - Encourage curiosity, exploration and develop a love of learning in children from an early age and into adulthood
Engage - Contribute meaningfully to the changing and diverse world around them, playing and active role in society
To help us to fulfil our aims we use drivers to underpin all that we do. You will see these around the school.
These drivers (broken down into eighteen learning characteristics) form the foundation of how pupils learn throughout the curriculum.
The curriculum has been created following extensive research to ensure all pupils develop the knowledge and skills to advance their personal and creative skills and to provide opportunities to engage with our local and wider community.
When teaching the curriculum, practitioners ensure pupils know how the drivers have been embedded into the area of study. Pupils are given the opportunity to recall prior learning and the progression of vocabulary and skills is revisited throughout the curriculum.
To help them to revisit knowledge, skills and vocabulary they have learnt, we use six core threads to tie their thinking together, across all subjects taught. These threads are mapped out across the curriculum:
Sustainability, British Values, Influence, Cultural Diversity, Equity and Innovation
